If you are an individual, company, organization, foundation and/or academic institution that would like to contribute resources or donate monies to the Scientific Empowerment Movement, please feel free to contact us at SEM.  The following are short- and long-term impacts and benefits, we believe students, communities, and sponsors will receive through contributing to SEM:

  • Students receive exposure to powerful role models that can transform their viewpoint on what they can achieve with a science background.
  • Providing students with techniques, strategies and approaches that they can use immediately in school to transform their current situation.
  • The dissemination of materials and a book (Finding Your North) that can be used in the short and long term, to assist students along their academic and professional paths.

Long-Term Impact

  • By providing access to information and knowledge, along with establishing a sustainable community for students will further provide equity and diversity in the sciences.

  • Creating and fostering collaborations with other nonprofits, organizations, companies and universities in the event area, which has similar goals to SEM, will further provide resources for any student that wants to pursue a career in the sciences to have support.

  • SEM can assist with developing a model for how communities and private and pubic entities can work together to create a paradigm shift—that science is cool and a perfect science-related career does exist, if you are interested.

  • Educating and preparing the next generation of minority youth for the workforce in America.

Corporate Benefits

  • Increase and diversify the pool of scientists, physicians and individuals that can enter the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • Short-term involvement in a community with long-term consequences.

  • The support of a unique model and approach to transform communities that can be leverage in other fields and areas.

  • Media exposure for corporations, organizations and entities at the local and national level.
